To welcome the New Year and show students elegant demeanor, the “New Year Party of Miami College”, sponsored by the Youth League General Branch of College, and jointly organized by the Student Union and the Young Volunteers Association of College, was ceremoniously held in the lecture hall,2F,atthe Entrepreneurship Center of the Jinming Campus on the evening of December 24th.

People attended the evening party including Liu Ting, deputy director of Student Affairs Department at Henan University, Zhao Xinshun, secretary of Party General Branch and dean of Miami College, Li Congguo, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of International Education, Qiao Shihao, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Physics and Electronics, and Wang Chuangfeng, deputy secretary of  Party General Branch of Miami College, Wang Xiaowei, in charge of administration and foreign affairs department, and personnel in the school's student affairs department and relevant departments and part of course teachers.

Before the party, the elaborate advertising video and real-time interactive platform have ignited the atmosphere of the evening party. The host came to the opening words in both Chinese and English when the party began on time at 19:00. After the passionate opening dance, Professor Zhao Xinshun, dean and secretary of Party General Branch of Miami College, addressed the New Year message, summed up the achievements of college in the past year and looked forward to a brighter future for the coming year!

At the party, different programs were brilliantly showed on the stage. The well-prepared programs such as sign language, Chinese zither, Erhu (Chinese violin), and comic dialogues were showed one by one, demonstrating the versatility and confidence of students. The English songs by the band AU ROCK helped the party reach its climax. During the interactive session, the audience actively participated, which made the atmosphere pleasant and exciting. Besides, a medley of songs by five students, a creative stage play by 2017 Class, a Christmas song called “Jingle Bells” by the foreign teacher Douglas, and an English chorus by the Miami College Students’ Union were all surprising, which prompted a round of applause.

The party ended with a warm-hearted song "Auld Lang Syne Together". At the same time, the actors and hostesses who attended the party took a curtain call to the audience with the companion of music, drawing a perfect stop for this evening party. The closing of the party was not an end, but a new beginning. I believe that the students at the Miami College are ready to embark on a new journey and write a new chapter!
