In order to build an English learning environment and enrich campus cultural activities, our institute held the first English speech contest in the lecture hall on the second floor on March 30th. There were 9 students of class 2016 participating in the contest in all.

Contestants and Judges

The theme of this speech contest was “The Power of Traditional Culture”. The contest was divided into three parts: prepared speech, question and answer. After the exciting competition, Li Shuai, with fluent speech and smart answers, was awarded the first prize. Besides, Zhang Chang and Liu Jiaqi won the second prize and Wang Zihao and Liu Zhe won the third prize.

This competition invited five teachers to be judges. They were Chen Shan, Wang Jiashi and Jia Lijuan, who were from the International Language Education Center, and Wang Xiaowei and Zhao Wei who were from our institute. They made wonderful comments on the performance of the contestants. After the competition, the teachers presented prizes to the winners. In the warm applause of the audience, this English speech contest ended successfully.
