The objectives of the Environmental Science are to have graduates be either working as a professional in an area closely related to environment science or pursuing a graduate or professional degree. The specialty aims to cultivate inter-disciplinary senior talents with international horizon and all-around development in morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics, who possess excellent scientific literacy, innovative consciousness and team spirit, systematically master basic theories, knowledge and skills of Environmental Science and who can apply English with proficiency to work on environmental management, assessment, supervision and engineering development and application. Meanwhile it can better prepare students for further studies in relevant fields in the future.

The specialty requires students to apply English with proficiency, systematical master basic theories of environment science, possess basic technology and methods of environmental monitoring, environmental assessment and environmental planning and management, familiarize environmental protection regulations and improvement technologies of environmental pollution, know well the development trend of environment science and technology and possess better scientific literacy and some capability of teaching, researching , developing and management.
