In order to deepen the study and education of “Two Studies, One Action,” and further enhance party members' party spirit, strengthen their ideals and beliefs, and enhance their work ability and level, from July 24 to 26, Miami College organized all party members and newly recruited staff to the Linzhou Red Flag Canal Leadership Academy to carry out special training.

The theme of this training study was “Learning the spirit of the Red Flag Canal and improving the management level of the college”. The entire itinerary arranged strictly followed the party's spirit education and teaching at the Red Flag Canal Leadership Academy, and conducted four on-site teachings, three experience teaching sessions and a group discussion seminar, observed some teaching sites, The Red Flag Canal Memorial Hall, Red Flag Canal Youth Cave, Gu Wenchang’s Former Residence, and the Spirit of the Carrying-pole Memorial Hall. At the Red Flag Canal Memorial Hall, the trainees listened carefully to the wonderful explanations given by the narrators. A vivid picture, a touching story, and a simple tool made everyone feel like back to the old time and experience Lin County people’s hard-working spirit. The Red Flag Canal spirit deeply impressed everyone.  In the Youth Cave, one of the major projects of the main canal, the grandeur displayed by the Red Flag Drainage was shocked all students. The people of Lin County were indomitable, and the fighting spirit of “pulling the Taihang Mountains” refreshing everyone’s soul. At the Spirit of the Carrying-pole Memorial Hall, the trainees learned the spirit of Shibanyan Supply and Marketing Cooperatives staff from different perspectives, who have been working under extremely harsh natural conditions for more than 70 years. With the firm belief and hard will of “hard work, diligence, and commitment to the people, exploration and innovation,” the people in Lin County provoked the heavy task of connecting the party and the group and communicating with the urban and rural areas with their shoulders, and stepping out of the mountains and building a smooth road of serving three agricultures. Avenue, casting a " Spirit of the Carrying-pole " that affects generation after generation; In Gu Wenchang’s former residence, all trainees looked up to Gu Wenchang’s advanced deeds and learned Comrade Gu Wenchang’s lofty spirit of loyalty, loyalty to the party, courage to take responsibility, and seeking truth and being pragmatic.

At the summing-up meeting on training and learning, Dean Zhao Xinshun pointed out that Miami College is in the initial stage and will encounter all kinds of difficulties in its work. There is an urgent need for all party members and faculty members to cling to the spirit of Red Flag Canal “self-reliance and hard work, solidarity, and selfless dedication.” He hoped that through this training study, everyone will profoundly comprehend the spirit of the Red Flag Canal, bring this spirit to the daily work and study, and contribute to the realization of the Henan University's development goals of building the school a “Double First-rate” one.

This training study not only enabled all Party members and newly-received teaching staff to deeply understand the spiritual essence of Red Flag Canal, but also strengthened the ideals and beliefs of communism. It also enabled everyone to increase mutual understanding and friendship and enhance collective cohesion through activities.
