On the morning of March 7, the coordination meeting of the construction work of the University of Miami was held in the conference room on the second floor of the administrative building of Jinming campus. The Academic Affairs Office, the Miami College of HENU and relevant leaders of other colleges attended the meeting. Zhao Guoxiang, Deputy Secretary of HENU host the meeting and gave a speech.

Zhao Xinshun, the dean of Miami College gave a brief introduction about the development situation since the college was founded, the difference between the Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run schools and programs, the innovation of school-running model, and some cooperation assumptions, etc. The Academic Affairs office, College of Physics and Electronic Engineering, Computer and Information Engineering College, College of Environmental and Planning, College of Civil Engineering, College of Chemistry and other relevant leaders have a talk about teaching management, teachers staff construction, laboratory construction, student management. During the talk, they analyzed the difficulties existing in the operation and put forward some feasibility suggestions.

In his speech, Zhao Guoxiang pointed out that the construction of Miami College has great significance to our school’s international development strategies and “Double First-rate Construction”. The Construction of Miami now facing s "three main difficulties": the first one is the high requirements for the new Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run schools from Ministry of Education; the second one is the high quality and level of our partner institution, University of Miami; the third one is our high educational goals. Therefore, we need to mobilize, integrate high-quality teaching resources of the whole school, making Miami College one of the best Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school. Hand in hand with the University of Miami, Miami College of HENU will promote relevant majors, and strives into our school’s “Double First-rate Construction”.
