On January 8, 2017, at the invitation of the University of Miami, Florida Polytechnic University and South Carolina University, deputy party secretary Zhao Guoxiang made a working visit to the United States.

On January 9, Mr. Le Blanco, executive vice President of the University of Miami, warmly received Zhao Guoxiang's line. Le Blanco introduced the basic situation of the University of Miami to Zhao and expressed his intention to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Henan University. Zhao Guoxiang made a retrospect of the two schools in recent years the interaction process and cooperation, for the big idea and practice in education internationalization expressed highly praise, and to further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with the exchange of views. After the talks, the two sides held a protocol signing ceremony at the UUniversity of Miami technical college to establish a professor post at the University of Miami. At the signing ceremony, Le Blanc and Zhao GUuoxiang delivered a warm speech respectively on behalf of the two schools. At the University of Miami, vice President of the school of development and overseas affairs, gonzales, and dean of the school of engineering, professor Budf, and former dean of the institute of engineering, Tian Jia-mei, attended the meeting and signing ceremony. After the signing ceremony, Mr. Zhao handed over to le blanco the President of the  University of Miami. Subsequently, Zhao Guoxiang visited the laboratory of the university of Miami Institute of technology, the student autonomous study room, flipped classroom, etc.
